Minimum Depth of Field - Work Diary

Evaluation
At first I did struggle to obtain the skill of minimum depth of field however once I got the hang of it I thoroughly enjoyed the shooting and editing of the photographs. I mixed the subjects of this shoot between people and nature to combine it with my recent idea to study nature next year. I always thought (since learning about Minimum Depth of Field) that the technique worked better with nature rather than people, photographs of people naturally should be surrounded by background 'noise' however the beauty of nature can be magnified with a blurred background.

Progression
In the future I plan to use Minimum Depth of Field when I work with nature in the upcoming Unit 3. I find dulling the background of nature photographs helps to maintain that the main subject stands out to extreme amounts. I want to use this technique to emphasize the seasonal theme I plan to take along with how magnificent I could make an animal look if I took a photograph of it and used the technique of MDF.
